In her new work of historical fiction, Whispers of the Gods (published by AuthorHouse), Michelle Sara Hart takes readers back to Egypt during the New Kingdom period of the 18th Dynasty, circa 1510 BC and onwards, weaving an enchanting tale that presents a fictional twist on historically accurate people and events.

Whispers of the Gods explores the mysterious, complex relationship and power struggle  between  Hatshepsut, Egypt’s first female pharaoh, and her nephew, Tutmoses III, who ruled at the same time and is widely regarded as the greatest soldier Egypt ever produced. The relationship between the two rulers has long fascinated historians and archaeologists, with some believing that Hatshepsut and Tutmoses III lived in peace, content to rule together, and others of the opinion that there was much discord and hatred between the two.

Hart credits deep meditation with giving her the inspiration to create this complex story full of complicated characters and rich historical detail.

“With no prior knowledge of the New Kingdom”, I turned to researching the information and was surprised to find that much of my writing was verified in print,” Hart writes. “I have combined fact and fiction for the purposes of this book.”

Steeped in magic, rich with history, and deep with divinity,

Whispers of the Gods is a wonderful story about ancient Egypt and the

people who ruled.

Hart brilliantly recreates ancient life, weaving together

descriptions of royal life and the influence and beliefs in the Gods.

Her attention to detail, particularly in regard to the complexities of

theology, shows that she has definitely done her research. I recommend

the book for readers interested in the time period.
